ORIGINAL one-of-a-kind Oil Painting on wood panel, “Changeline,” 2020.
This painting sits in a beautiful Vintage Frame, ready to hang!
This painting was inspired by the word “Changeling,” which is a creature from the folklore of many cultures, believed to be a fairy 🧚♀️ child left in place of a stolen human child. I’m always fascinated by the ways people have, throughout history, explained things that scared them or that they didn’t understand. This is my take on the legend!
The little girl, while adorable, has a horn, snake hair, and a dragonfly wing on one side of her body. It’s as if we are seeing, only on one side, her true, mischievous fairy nature behind the sweet facade. The moon halo behind her head is a reminder that she was taken at night and that she is now a magical child of the night herself.
IMPORTANT: The actual color of this painting is closest to the second photo! This photo also shows my signature!
The actual wood panel painting measures just about 5.25 inches by 7.25 inches, cut to fit this particular frame. With the frame, the piece measures closer to 5.5 inches by 7.5 inches. With frame, the piece measures about .75 inches thick. The hardware allows hanging or standing on a shelf (etc.)
